The History of The Trophy Club
The lineage of Trophy Club’s residents dates back to 1847, when twenty-one families from Missouri arrived in covered wagons to settle along Elizabeth Creek. Their original plans were to acquire large tracts of land, but when flooding in the area became a problem, the families were forced to move to higher ground which became the area of present day Trophy Club. The early settlers of the Trophy Club community continued to progress through the late 1800’s when the Texas & Pacific Railroad laid tracks through modern day Roanoke, Trophy Club, and Westlake to Fort Worth, providing growth to the region as it pushed to construct the first southern transcontinental railroad line.
A Master Planned City
Trophy Club’s unique history is part of what helped to make the town a modern, beautiful and safe place to live. As a master planned community, Trophy Club features over 1,000 acres of parks, neighborhood golf courses, woodlands and so much more. Much of the town’s appeal is the wide variety of homes, community activities, schools, clubs, churches, organizations and town advisory groups.
Trophy Club’s strategic location places it at the center of major growth in the DFW Metroplex, and its location will continue to be a major factor in town development. The collective effort of Trophy Club’s elected officials, residents and town staff work together to make up a very sound local government that is fully dedicated to Trophy Club’s preservation. They are committed to ensuring that Trophy Club governance remains within their intended purpose,.. and that is to maintain the Trophy Club as “A Great Place to Call Home!”
